Erin Leigh Murdock is a native of Massachusetts. She began pursuing her love of Voice at The Purchase College Conservatory in Purchase, NY. In her third year of study, Erin traveled to Italy to spend six months studying at Il Conservatorio di Mantova. Upon return to the United States, Erin appeared as Gretel in The Purchase College Opera's performance of Humperdinck's Hansel und Gretel. The production won first place in Category Three at The National Opera Convention Awards.
Erin attended The Eastman School of Music on a full scholarship as a candidate for the Masters in Opera, studying under Ms. Rita Shane. During her two year study, she remained the only student pursuing this coveted degree. Erin's roles performed at Eastman include Amor (The Coronation of Poppea), Daphne Grayson (Claudia Legare [Robert Ward]), Sorge (Faust [Schumann]), and April (Company). Erin was also featured in several oratorios in both Kilbourn Hall and The Eastman Theater, including Mozart's Coronation Mass and Beethoven's Mass in C.
In 2006, Erin advanced as a finalist in the Four City District Metropolitan Opera Competition. She moved to Fayetteville, NC in 2008 and served on the faculty at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke and maintained a successful private studio. Erin has been employed by Hay Street United Methodist Church as the Director of Worship Arts and The Fayetteville Academy as the Director of Choral Arts and Lower School Music. Erin was featured with The Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra (Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Messiah, Amadeus), The Cumberland Oratorio Society, and Fayetteville State University's Summer Opera, Candide (Cunegonde).
Erin now resides in Colorado with her husband and three children.
